A quote I read in a devotional from Greg Laurie years ago has stuck with me: “it’s possible to have a saved soul but a wasted life.” Ouch!
If you have been bought with the blood of Jesus, are you living like it? Are you investing your life in loving God and loving your neighbor? Are you serving the Lord and those He has placed in your sphere of influence? Are you living for more than yourself? Are you sharing the gospel?
These are tough questions that, if I’m being honest, I don’t like asking myself and definitely don’t measure up to. But they are important. We must evaluate how and why we are living our lives. If you are living for yourself, your life will be a wasted one. But don’t let it be. It does not have to be. Live for Jesus and Him only!
“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:1-2
