My Testimony

This Friday will mark 15 years since I became a Christian! Because of this, I wanted to share my testimony of how I came to know Jesus.

On November 7, 2010, when I was 7 years old, I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. My family and I went to our church’s evening service that night. In the days and weeks leading up to this time, my interest in church had been growing. I started sitting closer and listening to the choir more. That night, my pastor preached a message that was just about salvation, plain and simple. I didn’t know or understand everything, but I knew that something was missing in my life, and the Holy Spirit told me that that something was Jesus. So I came to God with the faith of a child, and haven’t been the same since.

Since that day, I’ve gone through some hard times, and I’ve messed up a lot. But the Lord has never given up on me. God’s grace has always been bountifully supplied every time I slip up, and I praise God that it’ll continue to be there until I’m home with Him. Life hasn’t been easy or perfect, but it’s been infinitely better because Jesus has been walking through it with me. I can’t imagine where I would be or what my life would look like today if I hadn’t said yes to Jesus fifteen years ago.

Can you say the same? Do you know Jesus? I’m not asking if you’ve recited a prayer or if you’ve gone to church your whole life, but rather, if you’ve been transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit of God. Jesus loves you, and if you don’t know Him as Savior, He wants you to.

Romans 10:9-10 says, “if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”

So, as a form of application, I encourage you to think about your own testimony. Write it down and to share it with someone who needs to hear it. There is power in our testimonies, and there is power in sharing what God has done for us personally! If you don’t have a testimony but you want to be saved, I hope today is the day that you accept Jesus. It is the best decision you will ever make.
